Hyderabad, Aug.10 (RAHNUMA): Cyberabad police commissioner M. Ramesh on Monday directed all the stakeholder departments to work in close coordination to tackle traffic congestion, water logging and road infrastructure problems across the Cyberabad Commissionerate.
A convergence meeting held at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate reviewed monsoon preparedness, ongoing road improvement works, free-left developments and traffic management. Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srijana, HMWS&SB MD Ashok Reddy, TGSPDCL CMD Jitesh V. Patil, TGIIC VC&MD K. Shashanka, senior Traffic Police officials, zonal commissioners, HYDRAA staff and representatives of other departments attended.
Officials identified several stretches requiring urgent repairs, including badly damaged roads and potholes. Locations requiring new or improved free-lefts, additional traffic signals, restoration of non-functional signals and better pedestrian footpaths were also discussed.
Waterlogging-prone locations were identified for immediate corrective action ahead of the monsoon. CMC officials assured that the pending works jointly identified by the civic body and Traffic Police would be taken up on priority.
Police commissioner Ramesh called for regular joint field inspections and time-bound action on road widening, shifting of utility poles and infrastructure obstructing carriageways, pothole repairs and measures to prevent waterlogging. He stressed that coordination among CMC, HMWS&SB, TGSPDCL, HYDRAA, TGIIC, HGCL, R&B, NHAI and MoRTH was essential to improve road capacity, reduce congestion and enhance road safety.
The Commissioner directed the officials to remain vigilant during the monsoon and promptly address emerging traffic problems to ensure safe, smooth and uninterrupted movement of vehicles and pedestrians across Cyberabad.
