Revanth seeks Army training centres to prepare TG youth for recruitment

Hyderabad, Aug.12 (RAHNUMA): Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has affirmed that the State government is ready to collaborate with Indian Army to encourage the state’s youth to participate in various Indian Army recruitment drives.

The Chief Minister appealed to the Indian Army authorities to organise training programmes in some identified district headquarters to create awareness among local youth in army recruitment.

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command of the Indian Army Lieutenant General C. Rajesh Pushkar, met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at MCR HRD in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister and the Army official discussed various issues, including army recruitment. Responding positively to Revanth Reddy’s plea, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar announced his readiness to set up training centres for youth in various Telangana district headquarters ahead of nationwide army recruitment drives.

Revanth Reddy also discussed the Army’s role in disaster management and emphasised that the army should play a proactive role in rescue operations, evacuating people to safety, and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas. Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar assured that he would instruct local Army officials to take special initiative during disaster situations in Telangana.

On the occasion, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar commended the state government’s prestigious Musi River rejuvenation project. The rejuvenation of the Musi River is need of the hour to protect Hyderabad by reducing pollution, and restore the city’s historical glory.

Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Major General Srinivas Rao and other senior Army officials were also present.
