
Hyderabad, Aug.19 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana NRI Advisory Committee team on Wednesday visited the Indian Embassy in Manila, Philippines and held discussions with senior officials of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) on effective migration policies and the welfare of migrant workers.
The delegation discussed the Philippines’ migration policy and studied its practices through a detailed PowerPoint presentation by Philippine officials. The team expressed its intention to examine the country’s best practices and work towards developing a more effective migration policy for the welfare of nearly 15 lakh Telangana workers employed in Gulf countries.
Government Whip Aadi Srinivas and Nizamabad Rural MLA Dr. R. Bhoopathi Reddy said the Telangana government would work towards adopting suitable practices from the Philippines to strengthen protection and welfare measures for Gulf workers, in line with the vision of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
The delegation also held detailed discussions with Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Harsh Kumar Jain and First Secretary Nilesh Kumar Rai on issues concerning migrant workers.
NRI Advisory Committee Chairman Dr. B.M. Vinod Kumar, Vice-Chairman Mandha Bheem Reddy, members Singireddy Naresh Reddy, Nangi Devender Reddy, Swadesh Parikipandla, Prof. Vijay Korra, Prof. Srinivas Junuguru, Liaison Officer Aadi Karthik, and others were part of the delegation.
