Karimnagar, Aug.19 (RAHNUMA): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Karimnagar Range, conducted a surprise check at the Town Planning Section of the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation on August 18 and detected several irregularities and deficiencies.
The inspection covered office records, revenue transactions, pending applications and the overall functioning of the section. The ACB found shortcomings in records maintenance and supervision, monitoring of revenue collections, disposal of petitions and accountability in field enquiries.
Officials also observed deficiencies relating to the use of official user credentials and the provision of information and assistance to members of the public.
The surprise check further indicated the alleged presence of unauthorised middlemen or mediators who were reportedly collecting money from members of the public in the name of facilitating official work.
The ACB said further verification is underway. A detailed report on the findings will be submitted to the government for appropriate action based on the outcome of verification and applicable law.
