Hyderabad, Aug.28 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana government is strengthening partnerships with leading technical education institutions in Japan to provide the State’s youth with international-standard technical education, skill training and employment opportunities, Minister for Shakti and Mines Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy said.
As part of the initiative, an in-principle agreement has been reached between the Hiroshima Institute of Technology (HIT) and Young India Skills University (YISU), the Minister said.
A Telangana delegation led by Mr. Vivek Venkataswamy, currently on a visit to Japan, visited the Hiroshima Institute of Technology on Friday. The delegation held extensive discussions with the institute’s leadership on technical education, skill development and creating industry-ready human resources in Telangana.
The two sides agreed to initially establish the partnership through mutual understanding and jointly identify areas of cooperation based on Telangana’s skill and technology requirements and the needs of industries.
Student exchange programmes will be a key component of the HIT-YISU partnership. The initiative is expected to provide students from Telangana with first-hand exposure to Japan’s technical education system, laboratory-based training and industry-linked learning. Students will also have opportunities to gain practical experience in applying technical knowledge.
The institutions also agreed to explore collaboration in faculty and trainer development, Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes, short-term technical courses, research and direct industry exposure. Priority areas will be identified based on local requirements in Telangana and emerging employment opportunities.
The discussions also covered potential cooperation in advanced manufacturing, mobility, automobile technology, artificial intelligence, electronics, automation, digital technologies and environmental technology.
Vivek Venkataswamy said the engineering expertise and capabilities of the Hiroshima Institute of Technology were well aligned with Telangana’s rapidly expanding industrial and technological sectors.
The proposed partnership, he said, would help strengthen skill development and create greater opportunities for Telangana’s youth.
