Tamil Nadu man hacked to death for atheist ideology

(Image source: Facebook/akaran.vck)Coimbatore: A 31-year-old Muslim man from Bilal Estate in Coimbatore’s South Ukkadam was hacked to death by a group of four persons on Thursday night. H Farook was an atheist and a member of the Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK). According to the police, its is believed that Farook was murdered for posting rationalistic messages against his religion on his Facebook page and a Whataspp group, which was criticised by members of his community.In connection with the case, a Muslim realtor, Ansath had surrendered before the judicial magistrate court on Friday evening confessing to the crime.”Farook’s anti-Muslim sentiments had angered people. This may be a possible motive for murder,” TOI quoted S Saravanan, DCP of Coimbatore as saying.
