Hyderabad, Dec.2 (NSS): Government Whip Aadi Srinivas has launched a scathing attack on former minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao, accusing him of hypocrisy and dishonesty.
Speaking to reporters at the CLP media conference hall on the premises of Assembly here on Monday, the Government Whip alleged that Harish Rao once approached late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to join the Congress and the same leader was now criticising the ruling party.
“Isn’t it true that Harish tried to join the Congress but was stopped by KCR? Even the media avoided covering Harish’s moves because of KCR’s intervention,” he claimed.
The Congress MLA criticised the BRS leader for accusing others of party defections, questioning his moral authority to discuss such matters.
“Harish Rao is spreading blatant lies despite knowing the facts. How does he even qualify to speak on defections?” he asked.
Targeting the BRS government, Aadi Srinivas said, “Kaleshwaram, once a grand project, is now reduced to ‘Kooleshwaram.’ In this season, not a single drop of water has been utilised from the project. The BRS has failed to pay even farmers’ interest dues, and their claims of allocating Rs.80,000 crore over the past decade are baseless. Meanwhile, we waived Rs.22,000 crore in farm loans in just 10 months.”
Highlighting the Congress government’s achievements, Aadi Srinivas said, “Congress has a patent on serving farmers. During our tenure, we extended schemes to every nook and corner, including tenant farmers. Even the sarees distributed under KCR’s schemes were later used as scarecrows in fields.”
He also slammed the BRS for not conducting a single DSC recruitment in the past decade and criticised their family surveys, questioning their relevance. On the BC census, Aadi Srinivas demanded clarity from the BRS leaders on their stance. He appealed to Harish Rao to “stop spreading lies and start speaking the truth.”
