Hyderabad, Feb.4 (RAHNUMA): The Anti Corruption Bureau on Wednesday caught Shiva Prasad, junior assistant in the Deputy Educational Office at Bandlaguda, Hyderabad, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a complainant.
According to the ACB, the accused officer demanded the bribe for doing an official favour i.e. removing the complainant’s school from the list of SSC Board examination centres. By doing so, the accused performed his official duties ‘improperly and dishonestly’ to obtain undue advantage. The tainted cash was recovered from the possession of the accused at his instance. He has been arrested and produced before the Special ACB Court in Nampally. Investigation is underway. Details of the complainant are withheld for security reasons.
