Actor Nagarjuna files defamation suit against minister Konda Surekha

Hyderabad, Oct.3 (NSS): Tollywood Actor Nagarjuna has knocked doors of the Nampally court against the comments made by State Endowments Minister Konda Surekha against his family members. In this regard, Nagarjuna filed a defamation suit in the court.

In his petition, the actor alleged that Konda Surekha had made comments that hurt the dignity and prestige of his family. In the petition, Nagarjuna also sought criminal action against Konda Surekha. The court is likely to hear Nagarjuna’s petition on Friday.

Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna had on Wednesday clarified on the X platform that Minister Konda Surekha’s comments were irrelevant and were false. “Don’t use the lives of film personalities, who are away from politics to criticise your opponents. Respect the personal lives of fellow human-beings,” he said. He demanded that the minister immediately withdraw her remarks.

Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna’s wife and actress Akkineni Amala also filed a complaint with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over minister Konda Surekha’s remarks against her family. She said her family should not be dragged into political controversies and added that it was shameful to make baseless allegations about her husband. “What will happen to this country if politicians behave like criminals? Rahul Gandhi should take the initiative to make Surekha withdraw her comments and apologise,” she said.
