Hyderabad, Dec.25 (RAHNUMA): Telangana BC Welfare Association state president Erra Satyanarayana on Thursday alleged that all major political parties, including the ruling Congress led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, were conspiring to deny 42 percent reservations to Backward Classes (BCs).
He claimed that the sudden move to raise the issue of ZPTC and MPTC elections during the upcoming Assembly session was a calculated attempt to backtrack on the long-standing promise of enhanced BC reservations. To counter this “political conspiracy’, Satyanarayana announced an emergency all-party BC leaders’ meeting on December 27, 2025, at Hotel Abhinandan Grand, Hyderabad.
Condemning attempts to use the Telangana High Court verdict on Sarpanch elections as a pretext, he asserted that there were no legal hurdles for other local body elections, and that the final verdict on the Sarpanch issue was still pending. He objected to discussing ZPTC and MPTC elections in the Assembly before a decision was taken on the BC reservation Bill sent to the Centre. He questioned the role of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and the BRS leadership in pushing the issue, alleging that the government was prioritising electoral politics over BC rights.
Stating that the objective of the meeting was to frame a clear action plan to safeguard 42% reservations, he appealed to BC leaders across parties, BC and caste associations, intellectuals and activists to participate.
Several prominent personalities like Bandaru Dattatreya, Eatala Rajender, R. Krishnaiah, Madhusudhana Chari, Gangula Kamalakar, Srinivas Goud, V. Hanumantha Rao, Dr. P. Vinay, as well as Jajula Srinivas Goud, VGR Naragoni, Justice Chandrakumar, Justice Eswaraiah Goud, retired IAS officers T. Chiranjeevulu, Jaganmohan, Balaraj Goud and others are expected to attend the meeting.
