Amaravati, Aug.5 (NSS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today alleged that everyone had suffered due to the five years of destructive rule of the previous government. He said all the officers need to move forward in accordance with the objectives of his government.
Speaking at the District Collectors’ Conference held at the Velagapudi Secretariat, he said the decisions they make would change the systems themselves. “If good decisions are taken, it will be good for future generations. If we all work hard, by 2047, we will be number one in the world. This Collectors’ conference is going to rewrite history. The then CM held a conference of Collectors in Praja Vedika and demolished it. Those who work with the destruction have been sidelined,” he said. He also said the last five years of governance had been such that brand AP had suffered.
“There was a time when Andhra officials had a respect in Delhi. Now they have brought about a situation where there is a feeling of inferiority. All the officials should be dedicated to the rebuilding of the state,” Chandrababu said.
CM Chandrababu said the NDA government was giving top priority to poverty alleviation programs. He asked the officials to take part in poverty alleviation programs on the first of every month. “Collectors should come up with innovative ideas to eradicate poverty. There are complaints from a large number of people while going to the party office. Of the 5,000 complaints, half were land issues. There have been large-scale land grabbing and irregularities during Jagan’s rule,” he alleged. He explained that he had seen the evil idea of putting Jagan’s photo on survey stones and on pattadar pass books in the past. The CM instructed the officials to remove the difficulties in sand and mining matters.
“The free sand policy should be implemented so that people do not face any difficulty. Charges should be levied only for sand mining and transportation. Sand reach should be placed very close to avoid increase in transportation charges. People should know the cost of the transportation from time to time. If any of the officials do not take the right decision, I will remove them from there,” he warned. He said if sand was booked in the State secretariat, the transport charges should be paid. Sand should be made available at a lower charge from the sand reach to the house. “Don’t act in a way that brings a bad name to the government. Sand, which came as a natural resource, is bring exploited at will. They tried to fool the Supreme Court. There have been a lot of irregularities in the case of the sand. We are investigating them by the CID. The culprits will be punished. We have to make an effort to increase the ground water level. Check dams should be repaired. He alleged that the previous government had neglected to give money for the repairs of the gates.
