Hyderabad, Sept.20 (NSS): Union Minister Bandi Sanjay has said contamination of animal fat in Tirumala Srivari Laddu Prasadam was a matter of grave concern and added that it was an unforgivable crime. He demanded that a CBI probe should be conducted into the matter. He urged the AP government to take a decision in this regard.
Bandi Sanjay has written a letter to CM Chandrababu in the issue. “This matter deeply disturbs the sentiments of the devotees of Tirumala deity and the Hindus of the whole world. Though there were complaints in the past that the sanctity of Tirumala had been damaged and pagan propaganda was going on, the then rulers did not pay heed to it. The former CM did not respond to the fact that the seven hills were confined to two hills while looting the red sandalwood. The entire Hindu community feels that CM Naidu’s comments that animal fat was used in making the laddu prasadam is a result of adulteration. Consuming animal fat in prasad is the worst. We see this as a big conspiracy against Hindu dharma. The conspiracy was hatched to reduce the importance of laddus and to dilute the faith of crores of devotees in TTD. They have committed an unforgivable crime,” he said.
He alleged that such incidents took place because the TTD had given its reins to the pagans and given them opportunities in jobs. “This adulteration racket is unlikely to take place for years without the involvement of high-ranking people. A thorough investigation can be conducted only if a CBI probe is conducted and the facts can be established. The final decision in this regard rests with the state government. It is the responsibility of the state government to protect the sentiments of Hindus by completely setting aside political interests. Immediately conduct a thorough inquiry and take strict action against the culprits,” Bandi Sanjay urged Chandrababu.
