Tirumala, Oct.5 (NSS): Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu has opened an advanced and furnished kitchen located on the Outer Ring Road on the rear side of Panchajanyam Rest House in Tirumala on Saturday.
The centralized kitchen costing Rs 13.45 crore is designed and constructed in a plinth area of 37,245 sq.ft with modern facilities for cooking, storing food grains, vegetables and milk in the ground floor, preparation of food in the first floor, steam-based cooking with boilers run by LPG and an exhaust system for providing ambient weather for the workers.
Whenever there is a heavy influx of pilgrims during holidays and in the weekends, the new centralized kitchen has been planned to serve 1.20 lakh pilgrims, the prepared food i.e. pulihora, sambar rice, pongal and upma on a day at the counters already established at CRO-Central Reception Office, PAC-I, Ram Bagicha Rest House Bus Stand, food counters along the outer Queue lines.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting for TTD officials on various activities. The meeting took place at SPRH on Saturday. He emphasised that devotees feedback on TTD services should be focused and special efforts be made to collect their opinions and study its feasibility for implementation. He asked the Endowment Minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy to implement feedback mechanism from the devotees at all premiere temples on the lines of Tirumala for improving facilities to pilgrims.
He instructed TTD officials to focus on elevating and promoting the glory, sanctity and devotees’ faith in Tirumala shrine and only Govinda Nama Smarana should resound in Tirumala.
Among others, he directed officials to make advance plan on water availability, increase forest coverage from present 72% to 80% with a 5 year plan, Bio-diversity protection measures of TTD forests, continue the quality of laddu and Anna Prasadam as devotees are happy with present standards with the use of best quality raw materials in preparation of laddu and Anna Prasadams.
Besides, TTD EO J Shyamala Rao and Additional EO Venkaiah Choudhary were present.
