Assembly approves Telangana Civil Courts ( Amendment) Bill

Hyderabad, Aug.2 (NSS): The Legislative Assembly on Friday approved the Telangana Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

When the House started, Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhar Babu introduced the Bill and Members of Bharatiya Janata Party, CPI, and AIMIM spoke during the debate on the subject.

Taking part in the discussion, BRS MLA KT Rama Rao said that his party would support the bill and asked Members of all parties to work together in matters that benefit the State.

KT Rama Rao urged the State government to set up fast track courts for rape and cybercrime as the victims should be assured of speedy justice.

CPI Member Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said the legal system is in shambles across the country and cases are pending for years.

“The State government should pay special attention and solve all the legal issues.

The new judicial laws introduced by the Union government have been criticised as troublesome. The State government should look into the issue of amending these laws,” Sambasiva Rao suggested.

In support of the Telangana Civil Court Amendment Bill, BJP Legislative Party Leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy made some suggestions in the  Assembly.

He stated that the number of fast track courts should be increased and said that the courts in the newly formed districts do not have their own buildings.

“It is painful to hold courts in rented buildings. There are no junior civil courts in the constituencies. The  State government  should increase the number of courts for speedy disposal of cases,” Maheshwar Reddy said.
