Hyderabad, July 7 (NSS): Shakehand Telangana Auto Drivers JAC convenor Mohammed Amanullah Khan today said an Auto Rickshaw Bandh will be observed on August 1 demanding immediate redressal of the legal demands of the auto drivers.
Addressing media persons at NSS here on Sunday, he demanded that instead of free travel of women in RTC buses, a complete ban on drinking alcohol should be implemented. He called upon auto drivers in the twin cities to burn auto rickshaw meters on the day of auto bandh. He demanded that the Congress party increase the auto-rickshaw fares on par with the neighbouring States and added that financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per auto rickshaw driver should be paid immediately as per the election promise. “The government officials should put up boards in all government offices, including RTA and police stations proclaiming that they will not take bribes,” he said.
The JAC leaders Lakshmi Narsaiah, Anjaneyulu, Mukha Hashmi, Mahboob Akhtar Bai, Sheikh Shariff, Sheikh Rahim, Mahajak, Ramesh, Mohammed Azeemuddin, Mohammed Latif Khan Madhukar, Venkat Ramreddy and Gaddam Narasimha participated in the event. (NSS)
