Hyderabad, Sept.18 (NSS): BJP Mahila Morcha state president Shilpa Reddy today condemned the incident of sexual assault of an assistant choreographer of Telugu film industry and added that the incident was considered a serious crime. “I also strongly condemn the five-year-old’s torture, harassment, assault and pressure on the victim to change her religion,” she said.
Shilpa Reddy claimed that it was a case of love jihad. She said that Even though an FIR had been registered in the incident by alleging that the victim was trapped , she wondered as to why frivolous cases were being filed against the accused to dilute the case? “It is unfortunate that the accused has not been arrested so far. There are allegations that some film industry bigwigs of the ruling party were behind the dilution of the case .
Claiming that Incidents of rape of women and sexual harassment of Hindu women by converting them are already serious in the state, she alleged that the state government did not even act in such cases. She also alleged that the law and order situation in the state had completely deteriorated. She demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who is in charge of the home department, should be held responsible for such incidents. “There are many atrocities happening in the state. The law and order situation has worsened as the home ministry could not hold review meeting even once, she alleged. She said that the state government should take the case seriously and take steps to ensure that the trial was conducted in a legally transparent manner.
Shilpa Reddy warned that she would fight till justice was done to the affected woman on behalf of BJP Mahila Morcha.
