Khammam, Sept.29 (NSS): Medak BJP MP Raghunandan Rao has refuted former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s allegations that BJP leaders tried to stop him from going to Tirumala. He claimed that none of the BJP leaders tried to stop the YSRCP chief.
“Jagan is making allegations against our party leaders that he will have to sign the declaration before entering TTD temple. But it is absolutely a false allegation,” he said. Raghunandan Rao gave a strong counter to Jagan’s comments in this regard. “Jagan did not go to Tirumala saying that he would have to sign the declaration. It is a blatant lie that the BJP leaders tried to stop him. He is throwing mud at the BJP for not being able to sign the declaration. It is in the Constitution that if a person of any other religion enters temples, a declaration has to be signed. If you go into the mosque, you wear a cap and a kerchief. Similarly, if you come to Hindu temples, you have to sign a declaration. Jagan himself says that he went to Tirumala five times and offered silk clothes. The YSRCP chief went to Tirumala when he was the chief minister of AP. There is nothing wrong with him coming to Tirumala. However, the declaration has to be given as per the rules of the temple. The Hindu community asked him to sign it. It’s not just the YSRC party chief. It applies to everyone,” he said. Rao said oThousands of Dalits were going to Tirumala every day and added that Till now, there was no caste issues at Tirumala But now Jagan is bringing that reference.
