Hyderabad, Sept.15 (NSS): BJLP leader A. Maheshwar Reddy today advised CM Revanth Reddy to hold September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day. He wrote an open letter to the CM and alleged that the State government was not observing September 17 as the Liberation Day as it was scared of MIM party and its leaders.
“In the past, even the BRS party did not conduct it as Liberation Day out of fear of the MIM party leaders. When the BRS was in government, it was celebrated as Integration Day. Now, the Congress government is calling it Public Rule Administration Day. Both the BRS and the Congress are ignoring the sacrifices of Telangana armed fighters in the issue ,” he alleged.
Reddy said there was an opportunity for the State government to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs who agitated against the anarchic rule of the Razakars by not calling it as a Public Rule Administration Day. Otherwise, the people of Telangana will teach Revanth Reddy government a lesson,” he warned.
Stating that the Central government was officially holding September 17 as the Liberation Day, he said he was unable to understand as to why the State government was not holding as Liberation Day? “This time also, we will celebrate Telangana Liberation Day in a grand manner in the State. In the districts, which were separated from Telangana and merged with Maharashtra and Karnataka States, the Liberation Day celebrations are being held officially. In Telangana, however, the State government was not celebrating September 17 as Liberation Day fearing the MIM party,” he alleged.
