Hyderabad, Oct.30 (NSS): BJP’s Medak MP M. Raghunandan Rao today said people had given VRS (retirement) to the Opposition BRS party and made it clear that their party would not be able to become another BRS party in Telangana. He predicted that the BJP would come to power and added that people would keep it in their hearts.
Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday, he said six months ago, the Centre released Rs 1,200 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and alleged that only ₹200 crore out of the ₹1200 crore were spent on the MGNREGS works and the remaining ₹1000 crore were diverted.
He said due to non-submission of UCs of the MGNREGS bills, ₹. 600 crore from the Central government was kept pending and added that development in rural areas had been hampered by the non-release of palle pragati funds. “With the State government’s negligence, the panchayat secretaries have also done the work with their own money.
The Central government has released Rs 500 crore as per the recommendation of the 15th Finance Commission. Rs 300 crore has been released for the National Health Mission. “We have been told to build a health centre for 500-600 people. But due to the negligence of the State government, people are suffering due to fevers in the villages,” he alleged. He also alleged that the Centre had released Rs 2,000 crore, but the Telangana government diverted them.
