Hyderabad, Oct.1 (NSS): The BJP’s farmers’ fast continued at Indira Park in the city on Tuesday. BJLP leader Maheshwar Reddy and MP Eatala Rajender held the fast for 24-hour hunger strike. BJP MPs and MLAs supported their fast.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP MP Dharmapuri Aravind criticised former CM KCR and Revanth Reddy governments for implementing similar policies. He alleged that after the Congress returned to power, the farmers were facing a lot of difficulties. Arvind said the fast was to remind the Congress government of the farmers’ grievances. “We will take these fasts to every district,” he said, adding it was PM Modi who doubled the income of farmers. He said the High Court had come down heavily on the government over the manner in which Hydra’s behaviour. He alleged that the houses of the poor were being demolished. He was angry that they were blackmailing in the name of Hydra and filling their pockets.
He said Congress was afraid of the BJP’s fast. Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao responded to the fast and added that he was getting old. “KCR has neglected regional crops. Now, Revanth is following the same. The High Court has cracked the whip on Hydra. We have not touched the houses of Muslims,” he added.
He alleged that the target of the Congress was all Hindus and added that it was CM Revanth’s nature to threaten and blackmail others.
Speaking on the occasion, Malkajgiri MP Etela said a person who doesn’t listen becomes a psycho. “People and farmers will have the power to take the Congress back on track,” he said. He warned that there would be disruption in the public domain. He demanded that ₹. 2 lakh given by the government should be deposited in the accounts of farmers.
“People will crush this government like the previous government. We will stage a dharna at the Ring Road in two to three days. In fact, the High Court has cracked down on Hydra. They did not put it on Hydra, but directly to CM Revanth Reddy. I demand Revanth Reddy’s resignation after the court’s remarks. The people are sure to give a befitting reply to your government,” said Etela Rajender.
