Hyderabad, July 28 (NSS): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka presented silk clothes to presiding deity on behalf the State government on the occasion of Bonalu Festival in Bhagyanagar. The Lal Darwaza Shree Simhavahini Ammavari Bonalu were held at old city of Hyderabad.
The devotees thronged the temple to pray Her from Sunday morning. The surroundings of the temple were crowded with the rush of the devotees. Lal Darwaza temple is celebrating its 116th anniversary this year. The devotees from Telangana and other States come and offer saplings to Goddess.
The police have made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Bonalu program. On the first day, Ammavari Shanti Kalyanam was performed. On the second day, there will be a Ghatam procession with Rangam Bhavishyavani and Potaraju’s play. There were over 500 police personnel and surveillance of CCTV cameras around the temple. On the occasion of Bonalu, five queue lines were arranged at the temple. Two separate queue lines have been arranged for women devotees, who carry bonams on their heads.
On behalf of the State government, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka presented silk clothes to the presiding deity of the temple. Hyderabad incharge minister Ponnam Prabhakar was also present on the occasion. Special arrangements have been made for the bonalu festival at the important 23 temples in the old city.
