Hyderabad, July 7 (NSS): Condemning the derogatory remarks against Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over the defection of MLAs, Minister for Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao said BRS leaders have no moral rights to talk about the defections.
Speaking at a press conference at the Congress Legislative Party ( CLP) media hall here on Sunday, Jupally Krishna Rao along with Shadnagar MLA Shankar said that former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao was the first person in Telangana to initiate an unethical practice of defections and trampled the spirit of Indian Constitution.
“Even though the people gave a clear mandate to BRS party twice, former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao killed the democracy and corrupted all the systems while in power. Even though there was a complete majority, KCR had inducted MLAs from other parties into his party and tried to root out the voice of Opposition in Telangana,” Jupally pointed out.
He stated that those MLAs are leaving the BRS party, which mocked the verdict of the people, and the BRS MLAs are joining the Congress party for the sake of a stable government.
“It’s nothing wrong to induct BRS MLAs into the Congress party when BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao is hatching conspiracies to topple the people’s government in Telangana,” Jupally said.
The Minister said the Congress party has the responsibility to protect the people’s government and it will not entertain the conspiracies of KCR to topple the government.
He further stated that former minister Niranjan Reddy does not have the level to criticise Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the defection of MLAs.
“Instead of writing a letter to Rahul Gandhi, Niranjan Reddy should have written to KCR as the BRS president had encouraged defections since the formation of Telangana State,” Jupally Krishna Rao pointed out. (NSS)
