Hyderabad, June 21 (NSS): Former Speaker and Bansuwada BRS MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Friday joined the Congress party.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy along with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy went to the residence of Pocharam and asked him to join the Congress party.
After a short discussion, the BRS MLA expressed his readiness to join the ruling party. Then, the Chief Minister formally offered Congress party scarf to the former Speaker and his son Bhaskar Reddy and welcomed them into party fold.
Later, speaking to the media, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that Pocharam Srinivas Reddy had done many services for the welfare of farmers since the beginning of his political career.
He stated that the State government will take a decision on the finalisation of modalities and guidelines to implement the farm loan waiver scheme in the cabinet meeting.
Revanth Reddy said Pocharam Srinivas Reddy will get due respect in future and the government will also seek his cooperation to complete all pending projects in Nizamabad district.
“My government is committed to the farmers’ welfare. I will seek the help of all for the welfare of farmers,” the Chief Minister added. (NSS)
