BRS unveils 2026 Calendar highlighting Minority Welfare, targets Cong over ‘Broken Promises

Hyderabad, Jan.8 (RAHNUMA): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT. Rama Rao on Thursday unveiled the party’s 2026 calendar focusing on minority welfare at Telangana Bhavan, projecting it as a reflection of BRS’s decade-long governance and inclusive development agenda.

Compiled by senior BRS leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail, the calendar integrates the Gregorian and Hijri calendars and features quotes from BRS chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao. It showcases flagship minority welfare initiatives implemented during the BRS regime, including Shaadi Mubarak, KCR Kits, minority residential schools under TMREIS, and the annual Iftar gatherings hosted by the government.

The calendar also highlights key infrastructure and cultural initiatives such as the construction of mosques in the new Secretariat, restoration of Anees-ul-Ghurba, and development of institutions like Urdu Maskan and the Jamia Nizamia auditorium. Political representation milestones, including the appointment of Mahmood Ali as the state’s first Muslim Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, along with nominations of Muslim MLCs and heads of minority corporations – are also featured.

Addressing the gathering, the BRS leaders described the calendar as a record of governance rooted in empowerment, dignity, and equal opportunity for marginalised communities.

Speaking to reporters, Abdullah Sohail criticised the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing it of failing to honour its commitments to minorities. “Not a single promise from the Congress Minorities Declaration has been implemented. Less than half of the allocated minority welfare budget has been spent in over two years. The Minority Sub-Plan and the Rs.1,000-crore subsidised loan scheme for minority youth remain unfulfilled”, he alleged.

The event was attended by MLC Dasoju Sravan and other senior BRS leaders.
