Hyderabad, March 15 (NSS): The Opposition BRS party in Telangana has forged an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. As part of the alliance, the BRS has allotted two seats to the BSP. The BRS issued a statement in this regard on Friday.
As part of the alliance, the BSP will contest from Nagarkurnool and Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituencies in the State. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has announced that Telangana party chief R S Praveen Kumar would contest from Nagarkurnool seat. The BSP is yet to take a decision on who will contest from the Hyderabad seat. So far, the BRS has finalised the list of candidates for 11 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats. The BRS party is yet to finalise candidates for four more seats as Nagarkurnool and Hyderabad Lok Sabha seats have been allotted to the BSP as part of the alliance. Secunderabad, Nalgonda, Bhuvanagiri and Medak are in the list of constituencies to be announced. Former CM KCR is expected to announce the names of candidates for the remaining constituencies after the Congress list is out.
KCR is also working on the schedule of election rallies as the process of selection of candidates is nearing completion. The BRS is planning to hold a public meeting in the Chevella Lok Sabha constituency on March 23. KCR has already instructed the leaders to hold public meetings and coordination meetings locally on the campaign schedule where the candidates have been finalised. (NSS)
