Hyderabad, June 30 (NSS): The Union government has approved the extension of Smart City Mission till March 2025.
The Centre has responded positively to the appeal made by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recently.
During the recent New Delhi’s visit, the Chief Minister called on Union minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar and requested to extend the deadline for Smart City Mission till June, 2025.
Karimnagar under the Smart City Mission in Telangana. A total of 45 works have already been completed in Warangal and another 66 works at the cost of Rs 518 crore are under progress.
Similarly, a total of 25 works were completed and another 22 works costing Rs 287 crore are in progress in Khammam.
During the recent interaction with the Union Minister, the Chief Minister informed the status of the works in Telangana.
In the larger interests of public, Revanth Reddy pleaded with the Central government for the extension of the Smart City Mission until the works are completed. In a positive response, the
union government wrote a letter to the States on Saturday, extending the Smart City Mission till March 31, 2025.
The official letter has clarified that the approved works will be continued and no new works will be sanctioned. Similarly, the funds for ongoing works will be released on a first come first basis till September this year. The Union government has suggested to complete all the works at the earliest. (NSS)
