
Hyderabad, Feb.27 (RAHNUMA): Strengthening its road safety drive, the Cyberabad Police, in association with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), conducted Phase-II of the Arrive Alive Campaign – 2026 at Gachibowli here on Friday, focusing on the vision health of heavy vehicle drivers.
Around 220 drivers of lorries, buses and tippers underwent free eye screening organised with support from Pristine Eye Hospitals under the Pristine Vision Foundation.
Commissioner of Police M. Ramesh said poor vision remains an overlooked cause of accidents and urged the drivers to adopt defensive driving habits. Traffic DCP–I Ranjan Ratan Kumar stressed helmet use for riders and pillion passengers, including children above four years, while Traffic DCP–II Sheshadrini Reddy cautioned against drunk driving. Dr Sravya of Pristine Eye hospital advised the drivers who are above 40 years to undergo periodic eye check-ups even without noticeable symptoms.
