Khammam, Aug 15 ( NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday launched the final installment of crop loan waiver upto to Rs 2 lakh at Wyra in Khammam district.
Addressing the public meeting after initiating the process of crop loan waiver, the Chief Minister said that no political party had dared to say that it would waive the crop loan of Rs 2 lakh, which is unprecedented in the history of the country.
“After coming to power, despite many difficulties, I threw a challenge that I will waive off the crop loan on August 15. I kept my word today,” Revanth Reddy said.
The Chief Minister said that everyone thought that it was not possible to waive off the loan of two lakh rupees at once. But, the Congress government has made the impossible possible by initiating the process of loan waiver for farmers, he said.
Recalling the tenure of previous BRS government from 2014 to 2023, the Chief Minister said that then chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao had promised to waive off the loan of one lakh rupees in four installments, but he failed to fulfill the promise and all the loan waiver went to the interest amount.
The Chief Minister challenged BRS MLA Harish Rao to resign from his post as the State government had fulfilled the promise of loan waiver upto Rs.2 lakh.
He informed that the loan waiver amount would be deposited into the accounts of farmers from Tuesday onwards.
