CM REVANTH ASKS RESOLUTION IN ASSEMBLY FOR RIGHT TO CONTEST AS MLA AT AGE OF 21

Hyderabad, Nov.14 (NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has appealed to Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhar Babu to move a resolution in the Telangana Assembly for the right to contest as an MLA at the age of 21.

Addressing the Children’s Day celebrations at LB Stadium here on Thursday, the Chief Minister said there was an age limit of 25 years to contest as an MLA and however, by providing an opportunity to contest an an MLA at the age of 21 years, the opportunities would be increased for the youth and many people would come to the politics.

“To get reservations in proportion to the population, a caste census survey should be conducted. To achieve social justice, a caste census survey should be conducted,” Revanth Reddy said.

He alleged that some forces were conspiring to spread false propaganda about the caste census survey and were trying to obstruct the process.

“The responsibility of reversing these conspiracies lies with the students. The survey is not designed to remove any welfare scheme. It is like a mega health checkup. If anyone obstructs the caste census survey, the people should

Stating that the State government is ready to provide basic facilities in schools, he asked all the elected representatives to visit the government schools in their respective areas and know the problems of the students.

“The Collectors have already been ordered to monitor government schools for two days a week. Instructions have been given to punish strictly those who supply contaminated food in hostels,” Revanth Reddy said.
