Hyderabad, July 9 (NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the State government is committed to extend the full cooperation for the construction of national highways in Telangana.
The Chief Minister along with Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy held a meeting with officials of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at his residence here on Tuesday.
He stated that if there are any obstacles for the construction of roads, the State government is ready to resolve all the problems and to extend the complete cooperation for the execution of works.
During the meeting, the officials explained to the Chief Minister on various problems arising in the construction of roads being undertaken by NHAI in Telangana.
In response, Revanth Reddy said a high-level meeting would be held at the Secretariat on Wednesday to resolve the issues.
The Chief Minister suggested to the NHAI officials that Hyderabad and Manneguda road works should be started immediately.
The officials were advised to start the widening of the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway immediately.
Reminding the efforts of Andhra Pradesh government for the sanction of green field highway between Hyderabad-Vijayawada, the Chief Minister asked the NHAI officials to cooperate in the construction of the Regional Ring Road, which the Telangana government has prestigiously taken up.
Revanth Reddy also reminded that during his recent visit to New Delhi, he had requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take up the RRR project under the Bharat Mala scheme undertaken by the central government.
“A total of 12 radial roads are coming up between Outer Ring Road and Regional Ring Road. Many clusters and satellite townships will be established between them. As Telangana does not have a coastal area, a dry port will be established, and for this, a high speed expressway will be constructed to connect Bandar port,” the Chief Minister disclosed.
He also suggested the officials to take up Hyderabad-Kalwakurthy national highway works as this road is strategically very important for both Telugu States which reduces the distance to Tirupati by 70 km.
Moreover, the proposed highway would be convenient for those going to Tirupati from Maharashtra, Karnataka States as well as Hyderabad,” the Chief Minister pointed out. (NSS)
