CM Revanth launches development works worth Rs.5,827 crore in GHMC

Hyderabad, Dec.3 (NSS): As part of the “Praja Paalana Vijayotsavam” celebrations, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday virtually inaugurated various development works worth Rs.5,827 crores under the jurisdiction of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation ( GHMC).

The development works, including foundation laid for Rs.3,446 crores under the Hyderabad City Infrastructure and Transportation Initiative (HCITI) Phase-1, beautification of roads and city junctions worth Rs.150 crores, launch of stormwater drainage and floodwater management initiatives with an estimated cost of Rs.17 crores to prevent water stagnation, inauguration of sewage treatment plants built by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) at a cost of Rs.669 crores, Commission of 19 reservoirs around the Outer Ring Road with an investment of Rs.45 crores to enhance drinking water supply to surrounding areas and announcement of Rs.1500 crore package for road development under the Hyderabad Roads and Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL).

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation for clearing pending roadwork projects and

unveiled a new Artificial Intelligence-integrated software for online building and layout approvals. The system is set to go live in February 2025, streamlining the approval process for urban projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy emphasized that these initiatives aim to address key urban challenges, including infrastructure gaps, floodwater management and efficient urban planning, while bolstering Hyderabad’s position as a leading global city.
