Hyderabad, March 29 (RAHNUMA): BRS party Working President and MLA KTR today lashed out at CM Revanth Reddy and accused him of shamelessly presenting false figures regarding the Metro rail project takeover on the floor of the state Assembly. He alleged that the Congress government was forcibly burdening the people of Telangana with a debt of ₹15,000 crore owed by the private entity L&T Company.
The BRS party members staged a protest demanding the constitution of a House Committee to investigate a mining company involved in illegal activities. The BRS party MLAs and MLCs gathered at Gun Park to protest demanding action against the illegal stone crushers operated by Raghav Constructions. Former Ministers KTR and Harish Rao participated in this protest. On this occasion, they marched in a protest rally from Gun Park to the Assembly.
Speaking during the event, KTR clarified that the previous YSR government had merely leased out 280 acres of the government land to the Metro project and made it clear it had not sold the land to the private company . He noted that CM Revanth Reddy was claiming to have purchased the lands currently held by the L&T. KTR asserted that these lands were merely leased to the L&T company and were never sold to them while emphasizing that the ownership of these lands remains with the state government. He expressed outrage by accusing CM Revanth Reddy of making boastful claims about having purchased the lands that were, in reality, only leased out.
KTR further lashed out by alleging that a “Dandupalyam gang” was eyeing the opportunity to usurp the 280 acres of the government land. He questioned as to why the Central Government would raise objections if the Metro project were to remain under L&T’s control? He also asked as to why the Centre had provided funding during his government’s tenure if there were issues with the project’s structure. He criticized the Chief Minister for spinning tall tales and making baseless statements regarding this matter. KTR concluded by stating that the Congress government’s announcement regarding the Metro rail project constitutes a flawed and erroneous decision.
