Hyderabad, July 24 (NSS): There was a heated discussion on the issue of RTC in the Assembly today. Former minister Harish Rao questioned about restoration of labour unions, PRC dues and vacancies in the RTC. However, the BRS leaders objected while CPI MLA Koonanneni Sambasivarao was speaking.
Intervening at this juncture, CM Revanth Reddy asked Harish Rao as to what was wrong if the CPI MLA spoke on the issue? He said the Communist party leaders always fought on the problems of the RTC workers. He also said the State government was ready to support the RTC in all ways. He mocked that the BRS government did nothing when the RTC workers went on strike for 50 days. He said the RTC was merged with the State government by the BRS government in haphazard manner before the assembly elections last year.
Stating that Harish Rao has served as a State minister since 2014, the CM said it was not appropriate to blame the assembly speaker for giving time to the CPI MLA. He said it was the BRS party that abolished the RTC unions when Harish Rao was their honorary union president.
