CM Revanth terms arrest of BRS leader Kavitha as election stunt

Hyderabad, March 16 (NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has termed the arrest of BRS leader Kavitha as an election stunt.

Speaking to the media at his residence here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that Kavitha was arrested 24 hours before the Election Commission issued notification and alleged that both BRS and BJP were eyeing to gain sympathy votes from Kavitha’s arrest.

He asked why BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao is maintaining silence on the arrest of his daughter and party MLC Kavitha.

“KCR has not condemned the arrest and also no statement has been released on his daughter’s arrest so far. What does KCR’s silence signify,” Revanth Reddy questioned.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ED aurthorities arrived in Hyderabad on the same day on Friday and both BRS and BJP leaders were staging political dramas only to damage the Congress politically.

“What is the strategy behind the silence of KCR and Modi ? The Telangana society is watching the political drama. It is unbecoming for Narendra Modi to criticise the State government. The Prime Minister has insulted the creation of Telangana State and has no right to utter even a single word on Telangana,” Revanth Reddy pointed out.

He also demanded the BJP leaders to  answer why the union government did not order a probe in to KCR’s corruption in the last 10 years.

“The Congress government has already ordered judicial probe into the Kaleshwaram corruption. Action will be taken based on the report and the State government will not resort to any vendetta politics. At the same time, it will not spare anyone who indulged in corrupt practices,” Revanth Reddy disclosed.

Warning to the opposition parties, the Chief Minister said If they think to oust his government, no one will be left in their parties before they woke up from the bed.

“If the opposition tries to overthrow the Congress government, we will emerge more stronger,” Revanth Reddy said.

Alleging that KCR’s arrogant attitude remain unchanged, the Chief Minister said that the upcoming Parliament elections will be a referendum to his government.

Revanth Reddy said he was immense satisfaction for successfully completing 100 days in office and had worked hard to implement six guarantees in 100 days.

Stating that the new government is moving forward by overcoming all hurdles created by the previous government, Revanth Reddy said the government will be more responsible and strive to solve all pending issues in the  days to come. (NSS)
