Hyderabad, Aug.2 (NSS): The Special Judge for CBI Cases, here sentenced Minala Praveen, then Commercial Porter in office of Sr. DCM, Hyderabad Division, SC Railway, Hyderabad to undergo two years’ rigorous imprisonment with fine in a case of bribery.
The CBI registered a case on June 24, 2014 against Minala Praveen, then Commercial Porter in the office of Sr. DCM, of Hyderabad Division, SC Railway, Hyderabad. It was alleged that the accused demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 40,000/- from the complainant on June 24, 2014, as bribe for exercising his personal influence with CBI officials claiming that he would hand over the bribe amount to CBI Officials for closing an alleged complaint pending with CBI against the complainant.
After completion of trial, the Court held the accused guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
