Hyderabad, Dec.30 (RAHNUMA): Senior Congress leader and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday assured fool-proof and elaborate arrangements for Haj pilgrims from Telangana.
Shabbir Ali was addressing a Haj training camp organised by the Nizamabad District Haj Society at Nizam Palace Function Hall on Bodhan Road for the pilgrims selected for ‘Haj-2026’. A total of 426 pilgrims from the united Nizamabad district – 382 from Nizamabad and 84 from Kamareddy – participated in the programme. He said special support would be provided from departure to return, including services in Mecca and Madinah.
Religious scholars guided the pilgrims on rituals, safety, and travel procedures. Shabbir Ali also noted that Hyderabad will serve as the embarkation point for pilgrims from 17 states and that over 8,200 of Telangana’s 11,757 Haj applications have already been cleared.
Later, Shabbir Ali launched multiple development initiatives in Nizamabad, including a free skill training programme for unemployed women, laid the foundation for a Rs.6.5 crore drinking water project, and inaugurated a new Eidgah at Old Eidgah–Bodhan Road. He said the Congress government remains committed to women’s empowerment, infrastructure development, and minority welfare.
