Congress accuses BRS MLAs of undermining PAC’s authority

Hyderabad, Sept.21 (NSS): Congress MLA  Yennam Srinivas Reddy has accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi ( BRS) MLAs of conspiring to reduce the effectiveness of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

He alleged that the BRS is attempting to prevent the exposure of financial mismanagement that occurred over the past decade.

Speaking to the media at the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) office here on Saturday, Yennam Srinivas Reddy along with another MLA Vamshi Krishna said that the appointment of the PAC was carried out strictly in accordance with the rules, and senior Member Arekapudi Gandhi was appropriately appointed as the PAC Chairman.

He recalled that in the past, decisions were made at the Pragathi Bhavan, and cited how positions were previously allotted to AIMIM, stating that everyone was aware of those arrangements.

Yennam Srinivas Reddy, who represents Mahabubnagar Assembly constituency, found fault with BRS MLAs for attacking the Speaker during the meeting using inappropriate language and said that the  financial mismanagement and excessive spending over the past decade would be exposed by the PAC.

He assured that the Public Accounts Committee will work with integrity to uncover the misuse of public funds.

The Congress MLA alleged that PAC had been undermined over the last ten years and the same conspiracies were being executed now. He vowed that PAC will act in the interest of the public and will reveal any misuse of public funds.
