Hyderabad, Sept.6 (NSS): Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed B Mahesh Kumar Goud as the president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee ( TPCC) with immediate effect.
In a release on Friday, All India Congress Committee ( AICC) General Secretary KC Venu Gopal informed the appointment of Mahesh Kumar Goud as the new TPCC president and also appreciated the contribution of the outgoing PCC president Revanth Reddy.
In fact, many leaders have tried for the post of PCC president in the Congress party. Mainly, Congress leaders, including Mahabubabad MP Balram Naik, TPCC Campaign Committee Chairman Madhu Yaskhi Goud and Government Whip Adluri Laxman Kumar and other leaders lobbied hard, but the party leadership has favored MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud.
Revanth Reddy’s tenure as PCC president ended on July 7. Since then, the selection of the new president has been going on. Finally, an official announcement was made on Friday.
