Hyderabad, Nov.10 (NSS): BRS party working president KT Rama Rao today said the Congress government had backstabbed the backward classes. He alleged that the Congress party had cheated the people in the name of BC Declaration. He recalled that a year ago, the Congress had made several promises in the name of BC declaration. Did the Congress government implement those promises?, he asked.
Speaking at Hanamkonda, he said the strangulation of artisans was slit for the sin of voting for a handmark. “The new government does know God. The existing schemes have come to a standstill,” he said, adding that Rythu Bandhu and Dalit Bandhu schemes were stopped when Revanth Reddy government came to power. He also said a new drama called ‘caste census’ has been started for the votes of BCs. He said 175 questions were being asked in the caste census.
“How much money is there in the banks? Is there an AC in the house? Is there a fridge,” he said. He said officials were being made scapegoats for the votes of the BCs. KTR recalled that the Congress had promised to provide 42% reservation to BCs in the local body elections. He demanded that local body elections should be held only after giving 42% assurances to BCs. “The Congress government has not set up a ministry for OBCs. KCR had earlier asked for a ministry for OBCs at the Centre. People doubting the sincerity of Congress leaders,” he added.
KTR criticized that the caste census survey in Telangana was being conducted for the benefit of Maharashtra elections. “We are not talking about reservation for BCs. The BRS has sent a team to study the 68% reservation in Tamil Nadu. Before the elections, Congress leaders had said they would give interest-free loans up to Rs 10 lakh to BC youth. Have you given an interest-free loan of Rs 10 lakh to even one BC child?” he asked.
