Congress govt delaying paddy purchase to avoid bonus to farmers: Bandi

Hyderabad, Nov.10 (NSS):Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar today alleged that the Congress government was delaying the purchase of paddy to avoid giving bonus to farmers. He also alleged that the interests of farmers of the State were being sacrificed to extort commissions from brokers. “The Centre was paying every paisa including interest. However, what was the pain, for three Congress governments to buy the paddy,” he asked.

Bandi Sanjay took a dig at the Congress party’s decision to celebrate its people’s victory in one-year rule in his own style. “What have you achieved and are you celebrating people’s victory? Are you celebrating the success of the implementation of six guarantees? Will you celebrate the success of giving two lakh jobs to the unemployed, one tola gold, and a scooty and Rs 2,500 per month to women? Will you say that ₹.  4,000 has been given as pension to the elderly? Do you think the poor have been given houses? What are the victories for? Celebrate public deceit for deceiving people for believing by casting their votes,” he said.

Bandi Sanjay along with BJP leaders visited the purchase centre at Kothagattu in Sankarapatnam mandal of Karimnagar district today. He enquired about the difficulties faced by the farmers in the purchase of paddy. “Have you dumped paddy on the national highway? How long has it been? Are you buying the paddy? Did you give a bonus? Are you giving minimum support price? Are you buying the paddy without any deductions, rot, and moisture?,” he asked. He complained that they were not buying the paddy for a month in order to force the farmers to sell it to brokers. No one cares about the loss every year,” he said.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the Union Minister lashed out at CM and added that there was no match between the action plan prepared by the State government on the purchase of the paddy and the implementation.
