Hyderabad, July 23 (NSS): Former minister and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao lashed out at the Revanth Reddy government for lifting the duration of the legislative assembly.
Speaking at the media point on the assembly premises after the BAC meeting, he alleged that efforts were being made to conclude the budget session of the assembly in just four days. “In the past, there have been instances of talking about the budget for four to eight days. Discussions on the entire issues will be held in two days now. The discussion on 15 demands should be completed within a day. The budget will also be discussed on the same day and the reply will be given on the same day,” he said. Harish Rao said that this government was not ready to discuss the election promises even in the Legislative Assembly.
He alleged that The Congress government had failed in maintaining peace and security. “Murders, rapes and chain snatchings have increased. In the last ten years, the maintenance of law and order in the state has been good. During these seven months, there have been terrible situations. We have demanded a discussion on the suicides of handloom weavers and the negligent attitude of the government towards them,” he said.
Stating that restrictions have been placed on the issue of farm loan waiver, he said that lakhs of people have not been given the farm loan waiver benefit. “Interest is being paid only till December 9. Till now, the bankers have been harassing the farmers to pay the interest to them. The loan waiver stopped because one had a job and the other did not have a ration card. We have demanded a discussion on this. On the issue of bonus for crops, we have demanded a discussion on rythu bharosa, a discussion on urban progress and fee reimbursement schemes . All the works sanctioned by the previous government have been stopped abruptly. Mana Ooru Mana badi program has also been stopped,” he alleged. Harish Rao said he had requested that the pending bills be sanctioned at the earliest.
