Hyderabad, Sept.19 (NSS): The grand felicitation ceremony was held for Mahesh Kumar Goud, the newly appointed President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), at Ravindra Bharathi here on Thursday.
The ceremony was marked by the presence of notable dignitaries, including Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Seethakka, Government Advisor K Keshava Rao, former MP V Hanumantha Rao,
Congress MLAs and MLCs and party leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar highlighted Mahesh Kumar Goud’s role in strengthening the Congress party and advancing government initiatives at the grassroots level.
Reflecting on his tenure as the NSUI president, Prabhakar noted that Mahesh Kumar Goud worked tirelessly and utilised every opportunity to its fullest.
He emphasized that success is achieved through relentless struggle and advocacy rather than relying on inherited positions.
The Minister underscored the Congress party’s commitment to social justice and equitable opportunities for marginalised communities. He mentioned that the party had proposed a bill in the Assembly for caste enumeration and allocated funds for it.
Ponnam Prabhakar reassured that the Congress government is dedicated to ensuring fair representation for backward classes in upcoming local body elections.
TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, in his address, reaffirmed his commitment to the principles of equality and justice as advocated by Rahul Gandhi.
He vowed to carry forward the legacy of ensuring fair reservations for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Backward Classes (BCs). The TPCC president criticised the BJP for its alleged negligence towards these communities and pledged to advocate for their rights and welfare.
He also expressed his intention to enhance the quality of government schools to match private institutions, reflecting on his own educational background.
Mahesh Kumar Goud highlighted the importance of unity among BCs and the role of Rahul Gandhi in shaping a more inclusive future for the nation.
