Later, the Chief Minister launched a photo exhibition on the life of Rajasekhar Reddy at Pragathi Bhavan and recalled the association with YSR.

In the collaboration with Congress party, Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s 75th birth anniversary celebrations were held on the grand scale at Gandhi Bhavan where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy,  Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers,  MLAs, MPs and other Congress leaders were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the tenure of former Chief Minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy was the symbol of welfare in the country and  his imprint was strong in the hearts of the poor.

The Chief Minister said the development taken place during YSR regime was utmost useful for Telangana State and the former chief minister was synonymous with welfare and added that the entire country remembered the great leader.            “All political parties and leaders of the country still recollect the welfare schemes of YSR. The departed Congress leader made his own mark in the implementation of welfare schemes. His schemes are the inspiration to Six Guarantees announced by Congress in the recently held Assembly elections. YSR is also inspiration to envisage plans for Musi Riverfront Development project, Metro Rail, Krishna and Godavari waters and attracting investments in Hyderabad. My government is pursuing the spirit of YS Rajashekhar Reddy,” the Chief Minister said.

Revanth Reddy stated that he had remembered the statement made by YS Rajasekhar Reddy after coming to power for second consecutive time in 2009 that Rahul Gandhi will become Prime Minister of India, but unfortunately the former chief minister left all even before Rahul Gandhi ascended the PM post.

The Chief Minister further stated that with the inspiration of YSR, all Congress workers should strive hard to make Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister.

“YSR’s padayatra also influenced Rahul Gandhi to embark on his Bharat Jodo Yatra. The departed senior leader’s yatra helped to bring Congress to power in Andhra Pradesh. Rahul’s Jodi yatra is instrumental to come Congress to power in  Telangana, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh States,” Revanth Reddy added. (NSS)
