Congress MLA questions KTR’s role in Hyderabad development

Hyderabad, Sept.25 (NSS): Sri Ganesh, the Congress MLA for Cantonment, has strongly criticised BRS working president KT Rama Rao, accusing him of theatrics and claiming undue credit for the development of Hyderabad.

“Hyderabad is being portrayed as KTR’s creation, with KTR acting as if he single-handedly shaped the city. He is engaging in over-the-top dramatics, suggesting that the Kalvakuntla family discovered the city,” Ganesh stated sarcastically.

Speaking to the media at the Congress Legislative Party ( CLP) office here on Wednesday, Sri Ganesh further questioned KTR’s public presence, asking, “On what grounds is KTR roaming around the city now, after neglecting it for the past ten years? The city is left in ruins, unable to withstand even a small downpour. The drainage systems are neglected, and the lakes and nalas (drainage canals) have been encroached upon under their rule. During KTR’s tenure, Hyderabad was submerged in floods. Have you ever focused on the traffic? Even a minor rain brings the city to a standstill with hours of traffic jams.”

In response, he said, “KTR has worked on building sewage treatment plants worth 4,000 crore rupees. If you’re purifying the water, why is the Musi River still a cesspool? It’s as if KTR is claiming coconut water flows through it! We will clean up the Musi River and provide housing for those displaced by the riverfront development under CM Revanth Reddy’s leadership. KCR’s legacy will be erased from the city, as Revanth Reddy is here to reshape and beautify it.”

The ruling party MLA also addressed the issue of illegal encroachments, promising to reclaim public spaces such as parks, lakes, and government lands that were seized.
