Congress welcomes High Court’s decision to dismiss KCR’s writ petition

Hyderabad, July 1 (NSS): The Congress party has welcomed Telangana High Court’s decision to dismiss a writ petition filed by BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who questioned the legal validity of the State’s action in constituting the Justice L. Narasimha Reddy Commission of Inquiry to investigate alleged irregularities in purchasing power from Chhattisgarh during the BRS regime.

Speaking at a press conference at the Congress Legislative Party ( CLP) office here on Monday, Government Whip Aadi Srinivas along Mahabubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy said that the High Court’s decision was a slap on the face of KCR as the latter was trying to escape from the investigation.

Aadi Srinivas said the BRS president is trying to hide the facts, but he has forgotten that everyone is equal before the law.

“KCR should appear before the Justice Narasimha Reddy Commission and tell the facts,” he said.

The Congress MLA further stated that if KCR is found guilty during the investigation, the latter will be punished as per the law.

He said former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao government’s irregularities are coming out one after the other and the current Congress government will definitely take action against those responsible.

Another MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, who represents Mahbubnagar Assembly constituency, asked why was KCR not appearing before the Justice Narasimha Reddy Commission.

“Even though there was a possibility to buy electricity at a low price, the previous BRS government bought it at a high price. KCR is not attending the Narasimha Reddy Commission because the truth will be revealed,” the Congress MLA said. (NSS)
