Press Release
The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Hyderabad wishes to categorically affirm that the situation in Iran remains stable and fully under control. There is no threat whatsoever to Indian citizens residing in or visiting Iran, and all necessary measures are in taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all foreign nationals, including Indian citizens.
According to Article 27 of the Iranian Constitution citizens have the right to freely assemble and protest, as current protests in Iran, driven by economic concerns, is a legitimate right expressed by Supreme Leader (Jan 3, 2026) and state officials. Essentially protests is a peaceful process, similar to other democratic countries, but some foreign parties are attempting to politicize the protest in Iran and turn it into violence through shedding crocodile tears for the Iranian nation and expressions of purported sympathy for the Iranian people.
In this context, the affiliated media has initiated a propaganda campaign, disseminating false information—such as claims regarding the Revolutionary Leader’s departure from Iran—in an effort to influence public opinion. It is noteworthy that similar baseless reports were propagated by certain media outlets during the recent 12-day imposed war.
The Consulate General further strongly rejects recent false claims in media suggesting that Iran’s Supreme Leader is preparing to leave the country. Such allegations are entirely false, baseless, and fabricated, and have no foundation in reality. These narratives are nothing but a continuation of propaganda driven by certain American and Israeli regime media outlets.
The circulation of unverified, baseless, and disrespectful content violates the ethics of journalism and professionalism. Appreciating professional and responsible Indian media, the Consulate General strongly urges media organizations, editors, and responsible journalists to verify information through credible and official sources before publishing or broadcasting sensitive news regarding I.R Iran.
This Mission remains available for clarification and authentic information and reiterates its commitment to transparency and constructive engagement with the Indian media.
