Hyderabad, Dec.12 (NSS): A food poisoning was reported at Saipur Tribal Welfare Girls Hostel in Tandur town of Vikarabad district. To meet the girls, who fell ill due to the incident, former ministers Satyavati Rathod and Sabita Indra Reddy, who wanted to meet the victims, were stopped by Police in Vikarabad and were not allowed to go to meet the students.
A large number of BRS cadres reached there in support of their party leaders. Along with these activists, they staged a protest on the road near the statue of Marri Chenna Reddy. To control the situation, former ministers Satyavati Rathod and Sabita Indra Reddy have been arrested by the police. They were taken to Hyderabad in a police vehicle. Meanwhile, tension prevailed in the area during their arrest.
Speaking on the occasion, the former ministers said many doubts were being raised about the students, who are kept in the hostel and given treatment. They were angry with the officials for saying that only one or two students fell ill due to the food poisoning. Stating that it’s not people’s rule, they questioned whether it was a demonic regime? They claimed that the district Collector was lying in the issue. They demanded that the students who fell ill should be shifted to hospitals immediately and better treatment should be provided.
