
Hyderabad, July 27 (NSS): The EOW Police of Cyberabad arrested two accused, who were involved in cheating, criminal breach of trust and collected money from complainant to the tune of Rs 3.25 crore in the name of providing admission for Under Graduation in Stanford University at Calofornia, USA.
The accused identified as Paladugu Raghuram of Madhapur and Paladugu Sunitha of Madhapur by the complainant Chatla Sanjeev Kumar of Madhapur. Police said previously the accused Paladugu Raghuram was involved in a cheating case registered in Kukatpally PS vide Cr.No. 370/2024 U/s 420, 465, 467, 468 IPC.
Police said the accused Paladugu Raghuram and Paladugu Sunitha have induced the complainant in the guise of providing admission to complainant’s son for under-graduation in Stanford University at Calofornia, USA. In order to cheat the complainant Chatla Sanjeev Kumar, the accused Paladugu Raghuram and his wife Sunitha have created fabricated fake admission documents of Stanford University, USA and collected Rs 3.25 crore from the complainant for admission.
For this, the accused created one character Sumanth and made the complainant to believe that the said Sumanth is working in White House at United States of America and he will help in getting under graduation admission in Stanford University at USA, for this purpose the accused P. Raghuram used another sim card and created whatsapp chats as if he is making conversation with Sumanth for admission.
They also made the complainant to believe that the accused P Raghuram has visited USA and met Sumanth for admission of complainant’s son. But the accused P. Raghuram and his wife Sunitha went to Mysore instead of USA, from there he made WhatsApp conversations with the complainant as he is in USA and working on admission process of his son.
The Cyberabad EOW Police advise the public to be aware of fraudsters, cheaters and do not believe and approach anybody to get admissions in any university or colleges without knowing them properly and advised to visit the concerned university for correct information.
The case is being investigated by L. Samaram Reddy, Inspector of Police, Economic Offences Wing PS, Cyberabad under the supervision of K. Prasad, Dy. Commissioner of Police, EOW, Cyberabad.
