RIYADH, 26 August: Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Sunday crowned the Saudi Falcons team as champions of the Esports World Cup on the closing day of the 8-week tournament.
Prince Mohammed was in attendance at the closing ceremony of the event in Riyadh.
The Falcons clinched the title after collecting 5,665 points, beating out their rivals the Dutch Liquid team, who came in second with 2,545 points, and the Swiss BDS team who came in third with 2,000 points.
Riyadh also hosted the New Global Sports Conference this weekend, which showcased Saudi Arabia’s potential as an esports hub.
