CS reviews Praja Paalana progress; Gram Sabhas to begin April 2

Hyderabad, March 31 (RAHNUMA): Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Tuesday held a video conference with district collectors to review the implementation and progress of the 99 Days Praja Paalana Pragati Pranalika, a key mass outreach and governance initiative of the state government.

During the review, the Chief Secretary directed all district collectors to conduct Gram Sabhas and Ward Sabhas from April 2 strictly in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) already communicated to them.

He emphasised that these sabhas should be organized in a structured and transparent manner, ensuring active participation of public representatives at all levels.

Highlighting the importance of the programme as a mass contact initiative, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to mobilise public participation. He stressed that citizens must be comprehensively informed about the flagship programmes of the government, ongoing welfare initiatives, and the new schemes announced in the State Budget.

He further directed that feedback from beneficiaries should be systematically collected during these sabhas, enabling the government to assess the effectiveness of its programmes and identify areas requiring improvement.

The Chief Secretary reiterated that the success of the programme depends on effective field-level execution, public engagement, and inter-departmental coordination, and urged all collectors to ensure meticulous planning and implementation of the programme.

Secretary (planning) Gaurav Uppal briefed the district collectors on the sequence of activities to be followed during the Gram Sabhas. He outlined the structured agenda to ensure uniformity and effectiveness in the conduct of the meetings across all districts.

Secretary, Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) T K Sridevi informed that during the Ward Sabhas, municipal staff who have achieved 100 percent tax collection should be felicitated, as a measure to recognize and encourage exemplary performance in urban governance.

Principal Secretary (health) Christina Zongthu apprised the Collectors about the health week to be observed across the State from April 6, during which special health-related activities and awareness programmes will be conducted to enhance public health outcomes.

Principal Secretary Sridhar and other senior officials also participated in the video conference.
